We all know Bengali sweets like rosogollas, sandesh are very famous in Kolkata and they are based on our rich cultural heritage. Apart from sweets Kolkata is a delight for other food as well.

1.  If you are a big puchka lover and looking for some mouthwatering puchkas then take a trip to Dakhinapan located in south Kolkata, you can take a direct auto to Dakhinapan from gariahat or take a metro till kalighat and then a direct bus to dakhinapan. Puchka prices are as low as Rs 20 !!


2. If you are non-vegetarian and love some mutton, chicken and beef then Zakaria street is a must visit place for you. It is overcrowded yet
makes the best foods for all the meat lovers! During Ramadan you will get the feeling of Dilli 6 here. You will get halem, kebabs, firnis, sherabat and much more. It is famous for Muslim street foods and they make variety of lip smacking foods

3. Freshly made shakes in esplanade, these shakes are a must try if you visit esplanade. My favorite shops which sells the best shakes are located just beside KC Das, esplanade. They make variety of juices and shakes. Mango shakes are a must try, they garnish it with cherry, cashews, chishmish and sandesh.

4. Morning breakfast in Tiretti market, located near Central Metro. The shop here opens as early as 5 am. It is advisable to reach here in the morning as the shops closes by 9- 10 am. You can get mouthwatering momos, noodles, chops, pakoras, rolls. Wait wait!! You must be thinking these food can be found anywhere in Kolkata then what's different here. These are made in Chinese styles and stalls here, are run by Chinese men and ladies. The ambience here is such that will make you feel as if you are in a different country and not Bengal !!

5. For all the vegetarians out there looking for some famous paw bhaji, then Agarwal's is a must go place, situated at Muktaram babu street, near ram mandir nearest metro being girish park, you will find various other vegetarians delicacies such as chowmein, tikia, chat, dost, pakoras, rolls, bhels, puckas, and these are all pure vegetarian. You will love the taste, it’s really yummy and a must try.

6. Unitech gate 1 Candor techspace, located in Rajarhat, if you are under budget and want to try out variety of dishes in one place then visit Unitech gate 1. You will get all kind of foods in one place, from variety of noodles, rolls, puchka, dosas, idlis, biryani, crispy fried chicken, momos, sandwiches, masala corn, various refreshing drinks, variety of Maggie, samosa, waffle, sweets etc. everything you will find here. It is a one stop destination to suffice your all kinds of foods craving, it is a favorite food snacking place for IT hub employees working there, do try the foods, its really cheap and they maintain good hygiene as well.
